Central Bank of India celebrates Founder’s Day

The 144th birth anniversary of Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala, the founder of Central Bank of India, was celebrated at the bank’s

Regional Office and all branches in Rohtak.

Bank officials paid floral tributes to the founder. Addressing the staff members on the Founder’s Day, Regional Manager Ajay Dua said the bank was established as a Swadeshi Bank in 1911.

He stated that born on August 9, 1881, Sorabji Pochkhanawala was given the title of ‘Sir’ by the British regime on March 1, 1935, in view of his outstanding contribution to the banking sector.

Dua exhorted the bank officials to put in sincere efforts to take the bank to new heights.
