Zelensky issues stern warning ahead Trump-Putin meeting, Ukrainian President says, no way accept handing over…, Europeans leaders also…

New Delhi: Ahead of the crucial meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has released a statement and made it clear that he will in no way accept handing over Ukrainian territories seized by Russia during the war. As per the Ukrainian officials and various international security analysts, Russian forces have occupied over 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory in this ongoing war. Trump has also indicated that he would have no objection to ceding the occupied Ukrainian regions to Russia.

US President Donald Trump will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, where they will hold talks to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump said that a ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine is close, under which Ukraine may have to cede some important territories.

European Leaders Back Zelensky

It is important to note that there are several European leaders who have stood in support of Zelensky and expressed their solidarity with Ukraine, especially at a time when hopes for peace talks between the US and Russia have been raised. According to analysts, this meeting is significant in terms of global politics, but Zelensky’s firm stance indicates that complex challenges in the peace negotiations still remain. Any agreement involving Ukraine’s territory will not be easy.

US Vice President Releases Statement:

US Vice President JD Vance has said that no agreement between Russia and Ukraine can fully satisfy both sides. Speaking to Fox News, Vance said, “It’s not going to make anyone super happy. In the end, perhaps neither Russia nor Ukraine will be happy with it.” He added that the US is working towards a peace agreement that both countries can accept.
