Breaking News: KC Venugopal Raises Alarm Over Air Safety After AI2455 Incident | ABP NEWS
An Air India flight (AI2455) traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi made an emergency landing at Chennai airport due to a technical fault and bad weather. The incident occurred late in the evening after the aircraft took off around 8 PM and landed safely in Chennai at approximately 10:35 PM. Congress MP KC Venugopal, who was onboard along with several other MPs and hundreds of passengers, reported that the aircraft experienced severe turbulence shortly after takeoff. He stated that passengers felt sharp jolts, prompting the pilot to suspect a technical fault and divert the flight to Chennai for safety. Adding to the tension, the aircraft hovered over Chennai airspace for nearly two hours before being cleared to land. During the first landing attempt, the pilot had to abort because another plane was reportedly present on the runway. The second attempt was successful, avoiding a potential disaster. Venugopal praised the pilot’s quick decision-making and called for an immediate investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). He emphasized that passenger safety should never be left to chance and urged authorities to examine the incident thoroughly.
