Breaking: Passengers Experience Turbulence Before Emergency Landing at Chennai Airport

An Air India flight AI2455 traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Chennai Airport due to a technical fault and bad weather conditions. The flight carried several Members of Parliament including Congress MP Venugopal, along with hundreds of other passengers. According to Venugopal, the flight experienced severe turbulence soon after takeoff, causing concern among passengers. About an hour into the journey, the pilot detected a fault in the flight signals and decided to divert the plane to Chennai for safety reasons. The plane circled above Chennai for nearly two hours as it awaited permission to land. During the first landing attempt, the pilot aborted the landing because another aircraft was occupying the runway. Thanks to the pilot’s quick thinking and experience, the plane safely landed on the second attempt, avoiding what could have been a serious disaster. Venugopal demanded an immediate investigation by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) to understand the root causes of the technical issues and ensure passenger safety in the future. A detailed probe will also look into the reasons behind the runway conflict during the initial landing attempt.
