Indian Navy starts massive naval exercise near Arabian Sea, Pakistan should be worried because…
Indian Navy vs Pakistan Navy: In a massive development after India conducted Operation Sindoor against Pakistan sponsored terrorists, the navies of India and Pakistan will be facing each other in the Arabian Sea as they will be carrying out separate drills at the same time. As per a report carried by ANI news agency, both India and Pakistan have issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) for carrying out drills in the Arabian Sea in their respective territorial areas.
“Indian Navy warships would be carrying out drills in the Arabian Sea on August 11-12. Pakistan Navy has also issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for carrying out its own naval exercises in its waters,” the ANI report quoted Indian Navy sources as saying.
Why has Indian Navy issued NOTAM?
For a basic understanding, a NOTAM is issued by a Navy when air traffic movement is restricted for a certain period of time. Notably, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the death of over 100 terrorists.
The report also said that India repelled the subsequent Pakistani retaliation and pounded its airbases. India has said that cessation of hostilities came after Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called up his Indian counterpart, and there was no third-party mediation.
INS Tamal concludes port visit to Casablanca
In another significant development, the Indian Navy’s newest stealth frigate, INS Tamal, has concluded a three-day port visit to Morocco’s Casablanca, during her return passage from Russia to India. During the port call from August 6-9, the ship participated in several activities focused on furthering cooperation and collaboration between the navies of India and Morocco.
