Here is why Real Madrid star Rodrygo could wear the Manchester City jersey in 2025-26 season

The winds of change are looming at Manchester City with a plethora of changes witnessed over the last six months. Manager Pep Guardiola signed an extension till 2027, so the Spanish veteran will continue to be at the helm for a few more years. Therefore, he is keen to get the transition process started at the earliest. Meanwhile, there has also been a large number of exits from the squad - Savinho and Jack Grealish being the main names to Tottenham and Everton respectively. Young attacker James McAtee is also close to a deal with Nottingham Forest, meaning Pep's attack line does require some additions.
While Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush head the goal-scoring department, they will need support on the wings and here is where Pep is looking at Real Madrid star Rodrygo. The Brazilian winger had recently revealed that the lack of game time is tempting him to make a move elsewhere and at City, he could find his ideal new destination. Real Madrid have also made their stance clear - they have no objections to Rodrgyo leaving the club, provided the buyer matches their valuation. This is where City could find themselves in a bit of soup, given that Real Madrid's asking price is reportedly around €100 million.
City have been known for their financial clout over the years but at this point in time, whether they consider Rodrygo to be worthy of this amount is another matter. Pep's camp have clear plans for the Brazilian in their setup and if the asking price gets a green signal from the City bosses, we could soon see Rodrgyo in a Manchester City jersey in the upcoming season.
