Tragedy struck Japanese boxing as two boxers, Shigetoshi Kotari and Hiromasa Urakawa, died after suffering head trauma in fights. The Japan Boxing Commission announced immediate safety reforms. OPBF title fights in Japan will now be limited to 10 rounds. An emergency meeting will address stricter weight checks. This follows a previous boxing-related death in Japan.
