Coolie star cast salaries: Rajiniknath takes home Rs 150 crore, while Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Pooja Hegde are paid just Rs…
Rajinikanth’s highly-awaited film, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is all set to hit the silver screens on August 14, 2025 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and other Indian languages. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the movie boasts a powerful ensemble including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Pooja Hegde. Made on a hefty budget of Rs 350 crore, a major share of the movie’s budget has likely been gone towards the cast’s salaries.
Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan or Nagarjuna- who’s taking home the fortune?
According to reports, Rajinikanth is alone being paid Rs 150 crore, making him one of the highest-paid actors in India. The remaining star cast is comparatively paid less than him. Nagarjuna, who will appear as an antagonist, has reportedly been paid Rs 10 crore for Coolie.
While Aamir Khan’s remuneration for nearly 20-minute appearance in the film is Rs 20 crore. Pooja Hegde who appears in just one song, Monica, has earned staggering Rs 3 crore alone. Kannada star Upendra and Shruti Haasan has been paid similar amount of Rs 4 crore for Coolie.
Coolie vs War 2: Who leads in advance booking sales?
All eyes on August 14 as Rajinikanth’s Coolie will release alongside Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2. With advance bookings for both highly-awaited films are underway, the competition has grown even more menacing. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie has sold a whopping 8,35,850 tickets for day 1, which is about 561.7% higher than War 2. Despite securing more screens than Coolie, Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 has sold 1,26,287 tickets in advance booking sales for day 1.
In terms of revenue, War 2 has minted Rs 4.11 crore from advance booking sales from Day 1, whereas Coolie has raked in Rs 17,72 crore. Coolie is expected to have a larger opening day business than YRF’s spy thriller. However, there’s still time for Hrithik Roshan’s film to beat Coolie’s numbers and hold the lead in advance booking sales.
