War 2 BIG UPDATE: Neither Salman Khan’s Tiger nor Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan – guess who’s making a special cameo in Hrithik Roshan’s movie?
The much-anticipated War 2 was long rumoured to unite the YRF Spy Universe’s three biggest forces, Salman Khan’s Tiger, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, and Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir. Fans had been buzzing about explosive end-credit appearances from Tiger or Pathaan, but sources now confirm the plan has changed.
A Bollywood Hungama report quotes, “War 2 won’t feature either of Tiger or Pathaan’s character portrayed by Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan respectively; however, their names will be used at some key junctures of the film. The end credit sequence of War 2 will act as a buildup for the next chapter of YRF Spy Universe – Alpha. Aditya Chopra is staying true to his vision of continuing the story forward, rather than opting for gimmicks by bringing all 3 superstars in the same film. He is reserving the union of all 3 superstars for a mega project, which is in the development stage.”
Skipping the quick cameo route isn’t a downgrade; it’s a calculated move. Instead of a flashy star moment, the end credits will seamlessly connect War 2 to its successor, Alpha. The idea: keep the narrative flow intact and build anticipation for an even bigger crossover in the future.
Bobby Deol’s entry in the film
The real twist? Bobby Deol steps in with a role that could reshape the Spy Universe. As the report reveals, “With War 2, Aditya Chopra will be introducing Bobby Deol to the Universe. It’s an epic introduction to Bobby Deol’s character, who is one of the main villains in the timeline going forward. Aditya Chopra is known to go against the tide, and instead of establishing his two female leads of Alpha, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, he is going ahead by unleashing the negative force of the film, Bobby Deol.”
Rather than playing it safe with familiar heroes, the makers are building tension through a fresh, formidable antagonist who will impact multiple future storylines.
The story and the stars
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 marks the sixth chapter of the YRF Spy Universe. It hits theatres on 14 August 2025 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
The plot pits Hrithik Roshan’s Major Kabir Dhaliwal against Jr NTR’s Vikram, two Indian spies with conflicting visions of patriotism. Their battle isn’t just physical; it’s ideological, pulling Kiara Advani’s Kavya Luthra into the middle of the storm.
War 2 isn’t chasing instant hype with cameos, it’s laying the groundwork for a long game, one that could explode when Tiger, Pathaan, and Kabir finally collide on the same screen. And when that happens, Bobby Deol might just be the shadow they all have to face.
