Today, the entire rehearsal related to 15th August has been done at the Red Fort. Due to which many roads will remain closed. Apart from this, there will be diversion of many roads. Delhi Police has given this information on social media platform that from August 13 to August 15, there may be traffic jams in and around the Red Fort. Rehearsals took place from 4 am to 10 am on August 13, due to which the traffic in and around the Red Fort was completely closed during this time. The same will happen on August 15, 2025.
Routes like Lothian Road, Netaji Subhash Marg, Nishad Raj Marg and Chandni Chowk Road will be more obstructed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolor from the Red Fort and address the nation. During this time also the surrounding routes will be completely closed.
There will be diversion on these routes
According to the traffic advisory issued by Delhi Police, diversion will be applicable for vehicles coming from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Vikas Marg, Salimgarh Bypass. Separate routes have been set for buses going from Barf Khana, South Delhi, Ajmeri Gate.
These vehicles will be banned
Due to the event to be held on Independence Day celebrations on 15 August 2025, entry of commercial vehicles, city buses, interest buses etc. will be banned around the Red Fort. Apart from this, Delhi Police has appealed to the people to use public transport as much as possible at this time, especially the metro.
