'Coolie' review and release updates: It is a 'power-packed mass entertainer', says Udhayanidhi Stalin

As it is barely hours to go for the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie, the anticipation has reached a fever pitch, especially with actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Udhayanidhi Stalin, among others, hailing the film a "power-packed mass entertainer."

Featuring a stellar cast including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir in key roles, the movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is touted as an action thriller that will also boast of some fantastic performances.

The film will hit theatres on Thursday. There are several early shows planned across theatres in Tamil Nadu, with some media reports claiming that first-day first-show (FDFS) tickets are being sold as high as Rs 4,500.

"Had the opportunity to get an early glimpse of his much-awaited movie #Coolie, releasing tomorrow. I thoroughly enjoyed this power-packed mass entertainer and am sure it will capture the hearts of audiences everywhere," wrote the TN deputy CM in a X post.

Several popular actors, including Mohanlal, Mammootty and Kamal Haasan, took to social media to wish  Rajinikanth all the very best ahead of the release.

The movie is being released a day after Rajinikanth is celebrating 50 years in cinema.

"I celebrate our Super Star with affection and admiration, and wish #Coolie resounding global success befitting this golden jubilee," Kamal Haasan wrote.

"#Coolie will be yet another diamond in your crown," wrote another Kollywood actor, Sivakarthikeyan.

The director called the movie "a special film" and said the reason this film shaped up the way it did with everyone pouring their hearts and love into it is because of  Rajinikanth.

Congratulating the superstar for completing 50 years in cinema, Mohanlal wrote: "Here’s to #Coolie and many more iconic moments ahead.

"It was truly an honour to share the screen with you. Wishing you the very best for #Coolie," wrote Mammootty.
