A 24-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men, including her male friend, after being given a spiked drink during a party in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area, police said on Wednesday.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police have launched a manhunt for the four accused.
The incident took place on Sunday night when the woman, employed with a Gurugram-based firm, was invited to a party at her friend’s residence near Under Hill Road.
Upon arrival, she found three other men, in addition to her friend, in the house, and they partied together until late at night. According to her complaint, sometime during the night, her drink was spiked and she became semi-conscious.
The four men then allegedly took her to the washroom and raped her. They also thrashed her, filmed the act and threatened to upload the videos on social media if she informed the police, the victim said in her statement.
“The men dropped her outside her house and left. The woman then called the police and reported the matter. A woman official attended to the call and took her for a medical examination,” an officer told the Hindustan Times.
Though the police reached the Civil Lines residence, all the accused had fled the spot by then. Multiple teams have been formed to nab the suspects.
"The accused are currently being traced, and CCTV footage is being analysed to identify them," police said.
