Impressive Shobha Yatra taken out on eve of Krishna Janamashtami

JAMMU, Aug 14: Despite heavy downpour an impressive and grand Shobha Yatra was taken out here, today on the eve of Krishna Janamashtami.
Jointly organised by Dharmarth Trust, Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) and Dharmik Yuvak Mandal, the Shobha Yatra started from Geeta Bhawan Parade and after passing through Ranbireshwar Chowk, Shalamar Chowk, Indira Chowk it reached at Raghunath Bazar where the Sawari of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani on a beautiful and fully decorated chariot led it.
Earlier Puja was performed at Geeta Bhawan, Parade in a traditional way by the members of SDS.

Dozens of tableaus depicting life history of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani formed the part of the Shobha Yatra. Large number of devotees including men, women and children who participated in the Shobha Yatra were chanting bhajans enroute in praise of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. The devotees attired in colourful costumes were dancing to drum beats enroute.
Hundreds of devotees had gathering enroute to greet the Shobha Yatra and pay obeisance to Lord Krishna. The people at various places had gathered at the roof tops of their houses and shops to have a glimpse of Lord Krishna’s Sawari. The devotees were seen showering flowers on Shobha Yatra.
The markets where from Shobha Yatra passed were fully decorated with buntings and flowers. The Bazar associations in all markets had erected welcome gates to greet the Shobha Yatra. The people had installed stalls at various places to serve soft drinks, water, fruit and prashad to people participating in the Shobha Yatra.
The tableaus of various socio religious organisations formed the part of the Shobha Yatra on open vans and tractor trollies depicting Lord Krishna’s life history from his birth to Mahabharta and his later life in Dwarika.
The office bearers of Dharmarth Trust, leaders of various political parties and Bazar associations also participated in the Shobha Yatra with great enthusiasm and religious fervour.
Shobha Murti Poojan, Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies were also held at Raghunath temple on the occasion by members of Dharmarth Trust.
The authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the yatra enroute. To avert any untoward incident a big contingent of police and CRPF were deployed on the Shobha Yatra route.
The Shobha Yatra which followed the traditional route passed through various markets which included Veer Marg, Shaheedi Chowk, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi, City Chowk, Old Hospital road, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazar, Geeta Bhawan, Ranbireshwar temple, Shalamar road, Raghunath Bazar and culminated at Raghunath temple.
