Pune Police Book Ballr Pub Manager For Breaching Dry Day Liquor Sale Ban In Kalyani Nagar
Kalyani Nagar: Pune Police took action against Ballr Pub in Kalyani Nagar for allegedly selling liquor during prohibited hours in late night.
According to police, at around midnight on Thursday, the Ramwadi Police Chowky's Beat Marshal received a call from the control room reporting that liquor sales were ongoing at the pub despite the ban.
Acting on the tip-off, Night Duty Officer Police Sub-Inspector Phatangare visited the location and found liquor being sold at 1:10 AM.
Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada Police Station speaking to FPJ said, "the pub’s manager, Raymond Francis D’Souza (45), a resident of Rajhans Colony, Shastri Nagar, Kothrud, has been booked under sections 223, 293 of the BNS, and Section 33(w)/131 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act. Furthermore, the matter is under investigation."
Ballr Pub has recently come under fire from the Maharashtra State Excise Department as well. In May last year, following the Kalyani Nagar Porsche car incident, Baller Pub was found serving liquor to the minor accused.
Despite being at the center of many controversies, Puneites still prefer to spend their time at the pub.
