After Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1', Rukmini Vasanth in Yash's 'Toxic'?

After Rishab Shetty and Kantara: Chapter 1 makers announced that Rukmini Vasanth has joined the cast, is now being reported that the Sapta Saagaradache Ello actress is also part of another high-profile project, the Yash-starrer Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. 

 

According to a report in The New Indian Express, Rukmini has already completed a couple of schedules and that an official announcement in this regard is expected soon.

 

A while back, we had reported that the team is shooting the big-budget entertainer in Kannada and English simultaneously, aiming to reach maximum eyeballs, leading to longer shooting schedules. 

 

Writer-director Geetu Mohandas had said at the time that they have envisioned a film with "a narrative that resonates with both Indian and global audiences." 

 

"It's the synergy that happens when artistic vision meets the precision of commercial storytelling, transcending borders, languages, and cultural confines," she added. "With Toxic, we're crafting a story that will not only entertain but also deeply connect with hearts and minds worldwide."

 

Bankrolled by Yash's company Monster Mind Creations and Venkat K Narayana's KVN Productions, the film will also be dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

 

The team recently released a first-look teaser footage that gave fans a glimpse of Yash's look in the film.

 

 

"Our goal was clear: to create a film with global resonance, and we were driven by conviction in this story and its potential," said Venkat K Narayana. "From the outset, we adopted a full-fledged, all-in approach, recognizing that Toxic demanded significant investment. We are committed to delivering a cinematic experience that showcases Indian cinema on a global stage."

 

The film boasts an international technical team that comprises action choreography veteran JJ Perry, known for his work in films such as Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and a couple of John Wick films.

 

The visual effects is handled by the firm Double Negative (DNEG) which contributed to some high-profile projects such as Christopher Nolan's Inception, Tenet, and Interstellar, and Denis Villeneuve's two Dune films and Blade Runner 2049.   

Entertainment
