Central Railway, Parcel OfficeTeam, LTT, detect banned tobacco products transported through Railway Parcel booking*

Central Railway’s alert Parcel Office Team at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus(LTT) have detected transportation of banned tobacco products through railway’s parcel booking system.

While conducting a routine check on parcel consignments arrived by Train no 12168 Banaras-LTT Superfast Express at LTT, on 14.08.2025, the Parcel Office team zeroed in on 3 packages booked from Varanasi.

The booking slips showing the packed items as mouth freshners, however detailed checks revealed that the packages contained cigarette packets worth Rs.6.83 lakhs. The packages were handed over to RPF personnel for further action.

The Parcel Office Team has demonstrated an example of alertness and dedication towards their duties and have done a commendable job.
