General Manager of Western Railway Vivek Kumar Gupta inaugurated new healthcare facilities at Jagjivan Ram Hospital
General Manager, Western Railway, Vivek Kumar Gupta, accompanied by Mrs. Neeta Gupta, President, Western Railway Women Welfare Organisation (WRWWO), visited Western Railway's Jagjivan Ram Hospital (JRH), Mumbai on Friday, 15th August, 2025 and inaugurated several new and important healthcare facilities. Additional General Manager, Western Railway, Pradeep Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Central Division, Pankaj Singh, senior railway officials, doctors and hospital staff were present on the occasion.
According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, on this occasion General Manager Gupta inaugurated the newly constructed 6 level fire escape ramp, renovated maternity & gynecology and pediatric wards with new 4- bed Intensive Care Unit (NICU) along with Audiometry & BERA facilities were also inaugurated. These new health facilities will further strengthen the medical infrastructure of the hospital and provide better medical care to patients.
Gupta appreciated the hospital's commitment towards providing high quality healthcare services and said that it Congratulated on becoming the first railway hospital to receive NABH certification. He emphasized on adopting modern technology and patient-centric approach with empathy and sensitivity. This project is an important step towards providing better medical facilities to the community.
On this occasion, Medical Director of the hospital Dr. Mamta Sharma said Information was given about the facilities available in JR Hospital and gratitude was expressed for the cooperation given by various railway departments in completing the projects. At the same time, Dr. Konda Anuradha, Principal Chief Medical Director of Western Railway, praised the excellent work of the doctors and staff of Jag Jeevan Ram Hospital and thanked the General Manager for his guidance and cooperation.
