‘I have no information’: Gujarat man’s mother reacts to son’s ‘attack’ on Delhi CM
The family and neighbours of Rajesh Khimji, the man who allegedly attacked Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a public hearing in Delhi on Wednesday, said they were unaware of his intentions prior to the incident.
Speaking from Rajkot to ANI, Khimji’s mother, Bhanuben, said, “I have no information.”
When asked if he had informed her before going to Delhi, she replied, “No, he didn’t tell me before going.”
A neighbour, Sureshbhai, who has known Rajesh Khimji for the past five to six years, described him as a quiet, kind individual. “He is a simple and generous man who has a love for animals,” Sureshbhai said.
According to Delhi Police, the accused identified himself as Rajesh Khimji, a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat. He was taken into custody immediately after the incident and is currently being interrogated.
According to reports, the accused had come to the ‘Jan Sunvai’ programme with a plea to release his relative who is imprisoned in jail.
Meanwhile, police personnel in civilian clothes were seen at Khimji’s residence in Rajkot following the incident, as part of the ongoing investigation.
