FASTag Annual Pass will not be valid on these 4 expressways of UP, know the complete list
FASTag Annual Pass, which came into effect from August 15, is making waves on national highways across the country. But this facility will not be available on four major expressways of UP, where commuters will have to pay regular toll.
FASTag Annual Pass: FASTag Annual Pass has been implemented across the country from 15 August and it has received a great response from the people since the beginning. In just 4 days, 5 lakh users bought and activated this pass. This pass is available for Rs 3,000 and can be used for one year or up to 200 trips. But the passengers of Uttar Pradesh will be a little disappointed here. Because this pass will not be applicable on the four major expressways of UP.
The pass will not be valid on these expressways
- Yamuna Expressway
- Purvanchal Expressway
- Bundelkhand Expressway
- Agra-Lucknow Expressway
When traveling on these expressways, the toll amount will be deducted directly from your regular FASTag account. The reason for this is that all these are state highways under the state government, while the FASTag Annual Pass is valid only on the National Highways of the Central Government.
You will get two accounts when the pass is activated
When you buy an annual pass of ₹ 3,000, two accounts will be created in your FASTag:
Annual Pass Account – It will cover your 200 trips.
Regular FASTag Account – It will have the already existing balance, which will work at places where the pass is not valid.
How much will be the benefit?
According to Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, passengers who used to spend about ₹ 10,000 on toll every year, will now be able to travel for a year in just ₹ 3,000. That is, a saving of about ₹ 7,000. Overall, FASTag Annual Pass is a big relief for passengers, but those traveling on these four major expressways of UP will still have to pay regular toll.
