Five women among new 21-member BJP team

State BJP president Rajeev Bindal today announced his new team comprising 21 state party office-bearers, including five women, while striking a regional and caste balance

The eight vice-presidents are Bihari Lal Sharma, Rashmi Dhar Sood, Kangra MP Rajiv Bhardwaj, MLAs Vipin Singh Parmar, Pawan Kajal, Vinod Kumar and Balbir Verma, former legislator Rajesh Thakur.

The general secretaries are Rajya Sabha MP Sikandar Kumar, Sanjeev Katwal and Payal Vaidya. The absence of Bilaspur MLA Trilok Jamwal and Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal from the list has come as a surprise. However, they can be accommodated in the state executive to be constituted later.

Bindal has tried to strike a regional and caste balance by including leaders from across the state and from all communities. Leaders with strong RSS links such as Sanjeev Katwal, Bihari Lal Sharma, Sanjeev Dharma, Dr Sanjay Thakur, Tilak Raj Sharma and Kusum Sadrate dominate Bindal’s new team.

The eight secretaries are Sumit Sharma, Sanjay Thakur, Vandana Yogi, Priyanta Sharma, Kusum Sadrate, Tilak Raj Sharma, Amit Thakur and Shishu Dharma. Naina Devi MLA Randhir Sharma has been appointed the in-charge of the media department while Rakesh Jamwal will be the chief spokesperson and Karna Nanda media coordinator.

Bindal has also announced the state presidents of all seven morchas. Daisy Rawat has been appointed president of the state BJP Mahila Morcha, Sunil Shukla of the BJP Yuva Morcha, Sanjeev Deshta of the Kisan Morcha, Manish Chauhan of the SC Morcha, Ram Lok Dhanotia of the ST Morcha and Gurmeet Singh of the Minorities Cell.

Sushil Rathore has been appointed coordinator of the Social Media Department and Kamal Thakur co-coordinator. Anil Dadwal has been appointed the coordinator of the IT Department and Praveen Thakur co-coordinator.

Kamaljit Sood has been appointed treasurer and Pramod Thakur office secretray.
