Several months after Operation Sindoor, the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed is getting ready to once again revive its destroyed training camps and hideouts. To rebuild its terrorist infrastructure, JeM has announced a major fundraising campaign, as reported by India Today. What is Jaish-e-Mohammed’s plan after Operation Sindoor?
India, on May 7, executed Operation Sindoor, in which nine terror sites deep inside Pakistan were destroyed in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocents were killed. According to the IndiaToday report, more than 100 terrorists were killed in the operation.
How many new markaz is JeM planning to set up in Pakistan?
After the operation, intelligence reports indicate that Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is attempting to restore and expand its terrorist infrastructure, reported IndiaToday. JeM is attempting to raise 3.91 billion Pakistani rupees to build 313 new markaz throughout Pakistan. The facilities are supposed to serve as training centers for new recruits and as safe houses for JeM chief Masood Azhar and his family.
The fundraising campaign is led by Masood Azhar, responsible for a series of terrorist attacks in India over the decades, and his brother Talha Al Saif, who has been actively soliciting donations from their followers.
To avoid detection, JeM is utilizing digital wallets, such as EasyPaisa and SadaPay, and linking the accounts to mobile numbers of Azhar’s relatives, including his son Abdullah Azhar, reported India Today.
