New Delhi. The Indian Railways has introduced several trains over the past 10 years that have made passengers’ travel experiences better and more convenient. The demand for these trains is very high, and some of them have been running at 100 percent occupancy since their launch. This train is one such example. Considered to be among the most high-demand trains, it was launched only recently. Yes, we are talking about the Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat. In this article, we will talk about the things that make this train special.

The train was recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister, and ever since it began operations, it has become a favorite among travelers. Running between Mata Vaishno Devi and Srinagar, it is operating at full capacity. Now, many people who visit Vaishno Devi also choose to travel on to the Kashmir Valley by Vande Bharat.

  • This brings them a double benefit: Passengers can reach Srinagar from Katra in very little time, and they get to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the valley throughout the journey.
  • Indian Railways has released the data for the Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express from June 7 to August 11.
  • Two trains run from Katra and two from Srinagar.
  • The Katra–Srinagar (26401) train had 100% occupancy in June, 102% in July, and 98% in August.
  • The Srinagar–Katra (26402) train recorded 101% occupancy in June, July, and August each month.
  • Katra–Srinagar (26403) train had 101% occupancy in June, 100% in July, and 97% in August
  • On the return journey of the same train, occupancy was 94% in June, 100% in July, and 98% in August.
  • This is the first Vande Bharat Express that has been running fully booked right from its inception.

It is important to note that people earlier used to travel on flights between Jammu and Srinagar. During the peak season, the demand for flights directly affected the fares. The ticket prices would go up to Rs 10,000–Rs 15,000.
