Coolie box office collection day 8 worldwide: It has been eight days since the release of Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Rajinikanth’s movie had a stellar opening at the box office, grossing over Rs 432 crore worldwide. However, collections saw a 65% drop on the first Monday (Day 5), and since then, the film has been on a steady decline. Despite this, the strong opening momentum has helped Coolie gross Rs 223.50 crore in India. Worldwide, the film has broken several Tamil cinema records. Overseas, it has grossed an estimated $20 million (Rs 267 crore), as per the Twitter handle of Boxofficewala India.
Coolie beats the record of Brahmastra and Kantara
Coolie is now on track to cross the Rs 450 crore mark soon. With this, the movie has surpassed the worldwide lifetime collections of Brahmastra Part One (Rs 431 crore) and Kantara (Rs 416 crore). It has also overtaken the lifetime earnings of Kamal Haasan’s biggest hit, Vikram (Rs 414 crore). Coolie has become the highest-grossing Indian movies in recent times.
Additionally, trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted about Coolie’s collections, stating: “#Coolie has surpassed the worldwide collection of #TheGreatestOfAllTime (The GOAT) and is just slightly behind #PS1.”
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie stars Rajinikanth as a retired porter who gets entangled with a gangster while investigating the mysterious death of his friend. The film also features Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and Sathyaraj. Aamir Khan makes his Tamil-language debut with a cameo appearance.
