Salman Khan fans rally against A.R. Murugadoss for comments on actor’s tardiness to set

A.R. Murugadoss is facing intense scrutiny from supporters of Salman Khan for calling out the actor for his behaviour on the set of Sikandar. While high expectations were laid on the film, it eventually became a box-office bomb due to poor reviews attributed to a weak storyline. In a recent interview with Valaipechu Voice, the filmmaker admitted that Khan was not an easy actor to work with owing to his tardiness on set.
“It’s not easy to shoot with a star,” Murugadoss said. “Even day scenes, we have to shoot at night because he turns up to sets only by 8 pm. We are people who are used to shooting right from early mornings, but that’s not how things work there."

Murugadoss further mentioned the physical toll it took on the younger actors who had to work late-night shoots. "If there were four kids in a scene, we would have to shoot with them at 2 pm, even if it’s the shot of them returning from school! They would become tired by that time and usually dozed off."
Avid fans have not taken the filmmaker’s comments lightly, claiming that he is blaming the actor for Sikandar’s failure. One user directly blamed Murugadoss for the film’s disappointing run.
While another acknowledged that Khan’s work ethic could be questioned, he called Murugadoss’s scripts “outdated”.
Others supported the Ghajini director, stating that filmmakers have previously voiced similar complaints.
A netizen drew a comparison with actor Govinda, who has been noted for his poor work ethic on sets and difficulty to work with.
