Kerala bikers accomplish mission of national solidarity
Dr Bharat Bhushan
After attending a meeting in Assembly on 14th June, 2025 I had boarded Vande Bharat train in Srinagar for Katra on my way to Kathua. My co-passenger Mr. Venugopal turned out to be a member of 52- bikers from Kalady, Kerala who drove 3600 kms on 26 Bullets to reach LOC in Kashmir as a homage to 26 lives lost in Pahalgam attack and spread the message of national solidarity and reclaim the resolve of the nation to take on terrorism.
Mr. Venugopal who was on return journey via train told that their group of bikers embarked on a mission “Bullets against bullets” to spread the nation’s resolve against terrorism and terrorists who sprayed bullets on tourists and here was a group on Enfield Bullets with love, compassion and empathy in their hearts.
The Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Vimladitya flagged off the group on Ist June 2025 from Kalady- the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya.
Chalo-LoC mission of bikers was dedicated to transform the outrage into action by uniting citizens in a resolute stand against terrorism. Through their symbolic protest ride on Royal Enfield bullet motorcycles from Kalady (Kerala) to LoC in Kashmir, the bikers paid homage to the victims of barbaric attack, fostered unity, resilience and an unwavering commitment to eradicate hatred that fuels such activities ensuring the serene Valleys of Jammu and Kashmir echo with harmony again which has been its strength since ages.
The young bikers choose this way to respond to Pahalgam carnage with noble mission, which was spearheaded by Mani Karthik-a startup consultant of Kochi whose home is in close proximity of the house of N Ramachandra who lost his life in the meadows of Pahalgam on that fateful Day, says Venu. Venugopal apprised that the bikers overcame multiple challenges with indomitable spirit, courage and the spiritual connect of Adi Shankarcharya with Kashmir kept them going.
The bikers accomplished their mission on reaching Yatri Sharda Peeth, Teetwal near LoC where they offered prayers on the banks of Kishanganga River. The ancient Sharda Peeth is in Pak occupied Kashmir (POK). It is pertinent to mention here that Teetwal is a small border village of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kahsmir situated on the banks of Kishanganga river and is around 82 Kms from district headquarter. The Kishanganga River seperates India from Pakistan at this village.
The troup consisted of 15 women and a couple with their 5 years old son. Back in Kerala-the team Chalo-LoC was felicitated by Mohan Lal- the Superstar of Southern India.
The two weeks journey of bikers with motto of Bullets against bullets was not just across miles but across the soul of Bharat and a tribute to Adi Shankaracharya’s vision of a united Bharat which will continue to inspire the coming generations.
My Journey on Vande Bharat with a keralite termed out to be something which I will cherish for years.
