Airtel down: Days after Delhi outage, users in Karnataka majorly affected

Bharti Airtel on Sunday experienced a network outage that hit various parts of Karnataka, with several users reporting difficulties in making or receiving calls, and accessing broadband services.
According to outage tracker Downdetector, user reports of network outages rose after 12 PM, quickly crossing 7,000. 52 per cent of complainants said they received a 'No Signal' message, while 31 per cent complained of issues with their mobile data connectivity.
While users in Karnataka were the most affected, Downdetector reports from Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata have also emerged.
The phrase 'Airtel down' is again trending on X as hundreds of users vented out their frustration online.
The issue reportedly appears to be due to a temporary connectivity disruption. Airtel responded to various user complaints on X, stating that the problem was expected to be resolved in an hour.
"No network and ndtprofit (net profit) increased ... what a business idea," one user commented sarcastically.
"Airtel postpaid is down since last 6 hours, not able to make call or acces internet.@airtel is works, zero accountability and you can’t talk to customer care, @TRAI you should atleast take some action, it’s look like @airtelindia has taken Indian citizen for a ride,” another user wrote.
“Airtel internet down in Bangalore today? Anyone else facing this?@airtelindia, at least notify users about outages instead of leaving us clueless!” a third user angrily wrote on X.
This comes just days after the telecom network faced a major outage in Delhi-NCR.
According to Downdetector, about 71 per cent of users had reported facing issues with calls, while 15 per cent had complained about internet connectivity. The remainder had complained about signal issues.
