MP Weather Update: Today, the Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for heavy to very heavy rains in many districts of Madhya Pradesh, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain for the next four days.

Monsoon is showing its colors again in Madhya Pradesh. Today on 3rd September 2025, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rains in many districts of the state. The clouds are ready to thunder and the havoc of rain can wreak havoc in some districts. Let’s know what the weather will be like today.

Orange alert for heavy rain in these districts

According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert has been issued for very heavy rain in Dewas, Sehore, Harda, Khandwa, Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara and Pandhurna today. These districts may receive heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms, and some areas are likely to receive up to 8 inches of rain.

Yellow alert in these 18 districts

There is a yellow alert for heavy rain in 18 other districts of the state. These include Indore, Ujjain, Ratlam, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Vidisha, Raisen, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat. Moderate to heavy rains may occur in these areas along with strong winds and lightning. The local administration has advised people living in low-lying areas to be cautious.

Four days of rain

The Meteorological Department says that the low pressure system and cyclonic circulation formed in the Bay of Bengal is further activating the monsoon in Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in many parts of the state from 4 to 7 September. Rains will be especially intense in Malwa-Nimar and Vindhya regions. This year the monsoon has given 30% more rain than the average in the state, and this trend is not going to stop yet.
