A US journalist and television host has attempted to unravel the mystery surrounding US President Donald Trump’s ill health amid rumours that he is battling a serious health issue. Chuck Todd, a former host with NBC News and CNN, has stated that Trump was “clearly hiding something.” Chatter over Trump’s health gained strength over the last weekend when social media blew up with rumours that 79-year-old Trump had died.

Todd, in a podcast, claimed that there are visible signs that Trump had some health issues. He added that the symptoms appear to be old people's health issues, particularly for those who are out of shape and don’t take care of themselves.

“So he’s got the—what looks like the COPD [Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease] issue, maybe, or  at least stuff that could be related to that…the bruising on his hands that’s likely a side effect of a medication he may be taking in order to… blood thinner or something,” Todd said in the podcast.

Todd is the second journalist who raised an alarm about Trump’s health after images showed bruises on his arms and his swollen feet. Earlier, former editor of Politico, Garett Graff, had cited six reasons why Trump’s health needed to be a major topic of discussion.

Meanwhile, right-wing Fox News continues to claim Trump was in perfect health. It earlier broadcast a session with Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel, who defended Trump, stating Trump’s appearance proved “there is no issue” over the health

“President Trump doesn’t use a teleprompter. He talks just clearly,” he said on Tuesday. “You’re sitting there mesmerized as he talks.” In fact, Trump is said to use tele-prompter, though he is known for his meaningless rants.
