Central Railway records 2nd Highest Freight Loading of 5.61 million tonnes for the month of August in the last 10 years

Central Railway has achieved a significant milestone by recording the second highest freight loading of 5.61 million tonnes (MT) for the month of August in the last 10 years (FY 2015-16 to FY 2025-26).

This marks a 2% increase in freight loading compared to August 2024, when the figure stood at 5.49 million tonnes.

Details of loading for August 2025 and comparative figures for the corresponding month last year are as follows:-

·         Loading in Iron Ore and Pallets have shown a remarkable increase of 200% with 57 rakes of Iron Ore & Pallets loaded in August-2025 against 19 rakes in August-2024.

·         Clinker loading has shown a considerable growth of 158% with 49 rakes loaded in August-2025 against 19 rakes in August-2024.

·         214 rakes of Petroleum products have been loaded in August 2025 as against 187 rakes in August 2024 registering growth of almost 15%

·         12 rakes of De-oiled Cakes have been loaded this month against 11 rakes in the same month last year with growth of 9%.

·         4 rakes of Onions have been loaded this month. No Onions were loaded in the same month last year.

·         804 rakes of Containers were loaded in August 2025 as against 783 in August 2024 marking an increase of almost 3%.

·         Loading of Containers from Jawaharlal Nehru Port stood at 615 in August 2025 against 592 in August 2024 registering growth of almost 4%.

Speed of Goods trains on Central Railway have been increased enabling faster transportation.
