5 cricketers of HDCA selected for Senior Women T-20

Players Pooja Devi, Shivani, Surabhi Narayan, Anjali Shihmar and Niranka of Hoshiarpur District Cricket Association (HDCA) Centre have been selected for the Senior Women T-20 Championship of four teams being organised by the Punjab Cricket Association.

Giving information in this regard, HDCA secretary Dr Raman Ghai said in the Punjab State Women Senior T-20 Tournament, Pooja Devi of Hoshiarpur would play in the PCA Yellow Team, Shivani and Niranka in the PCA Red Team and Anjali and Surabhi would play for PCA the Blue Team. He said this tournament would be played till September 10 at the Gandhi Ground in Amritsar.

Dr Ghai said, “Best women cricket players of Punjab are participating in this tournament. The players performing well in this tournament will be selected for the Punjab Women T-20 Team. It is a matter of pride for the HDCA that five women players of the centre will participate in this tournament and present their claim for the Punjab team on the basis of their performance.”

HDCA president Dr Daljit Khela congratulated the players on behalf of the association. HDCA district women coach Davinder Kaur Kalyan said, “Hoshiarpur has great expectations from these five players. We hope that all the players will present their claim for the Punjab team by giving an excellent performance.”

On this occasion, district coach Daljit Singh, junior women coach Nikita Kumari, junior coach Daljit Dhiman, junior coach Pankaj Pinka, coach Dinesh Sharma and district trainer Kuldeep Dhami also expressed happiness over the selection of players and wished them all the best.
