Government Urges Residents Of 7 Srinagar Areas To Evacuate As Precautionary Measure

SRINAGAR, Sep 4: The District Administration Srinagar has urged residents of seven localities to evacuate to safer places as a precautionary measure following a breach at Shalina in Budgam.
An official statement said residents of Lasjan, Soiteng, Nowgam, Vyethpora, Gopalpora, Padshahibagh, and Mehjoor Nagar have been advised to move immediately. “District Administration Srinagar has reported that due to a breach at Shalina, Budgam, residents of the identified areas are advised to evacuate and shift to safer places as a preemptive and precautionary measure,” the statement read.
Authorities said announcements were made early Thursday morning through local committees, masjids, and revenue and police officials. Residents have been asked to remain alert but not to panic.
