Mahadangal: Twin Brothers or Big Brother? NDA’s Seat-Sharing Tug of War in Bihar Heats Up | ABP NEWS
As Bihar gears up for the upcoming assembly elections, the major political alliances—NDA and INDIA bloc—are yet to finalize their seat-sharing arrangements. The BJP-JDU alliance, in particular, is witnessing a heated debate over who holds the "big brother" status. Senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain recently claimed in an interview with ABP News that, "There is no big or small brother now; we are all twin brothers." However, JDU leader and minister Shravan Kumar countered by asserting that Nitish Kumar’s party has always played the elder brother's role in Bihar and should continue to do so. Seat demands from alliance partners are escalating. Chirag Paswan's LJP is demanding at least 40 seats, while Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM party is seeking no fewer than 20 seats. With such high stakes, BJP has convened a core committee meeting at Amit Shah’s residence in Delhi, while Tejashwi Yadav holds parallel strategy sessions in Patna. The unresolved question remains: Will JDU accept the "twin brother" formula, or will this internal friction impact NDA's performance?
