Putin issues major THREAT to Zelensky, says Ukraine should end the war through talks, otherwise…, Russian President plans to…
Moscow: In a major development, Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stern warning to Ukraine. The Russian president also said that if reason prevails, there is a chance to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations, and he would prefer that. However, if necessary, he is also ready to end it by force. Putin made this comment at the end of his visit to China.
The Russian leader said that he can see a light at the end of the tunnel. He described the US efforts to stop the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine as sincere.
Speaking to the media in Beijing, Putin said, “I believe that if approached sensibly, it will be possible to reach an acceptable solution to end this war. That is my estimation. Especially when we can observe the current U.S. administration’s mood under President Trump. We can see not only their statements but also their sincere desire to find this solution.”
Warning to End the War by Force
Putin expressed hope regarding efforts to end the war, saying, “I think there is a certain light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s see how the situation develops. If that does not happen, we will have to resolve all the challenges in front of us by the force of arms.”
However, Putin showed no sign of softening his long-standing demand, which has been a major reason for the war’s outbreak, that Ukraine must abandon the idea of joining NATO. Additionally, he indicated no intention of conceding that Russia would maintain full control over the occupied Donbas region in eastern Ukraine.
Putin on Zelensky’s visit to Moscow:
On Zelensky’s visit to Moscow, Putin said that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky comes to Moscow for talks, he is ready to meet him. However, it remains to be seen how meaningful this meeting would be. He reiterated once again that Zelensky’s presidency is illegal.
Russia claims that Zelensky’s official term has ended and, due to martial law, elections have not been held. Meanwhile, Kyiv has rejected these allegations, stating that holding elections during wartime is impossible.
