Viral Video: Woman’s suicide bid reveals dowry horror
A shocking case of dowry harassment has surfaced from Dounkoli village in the Gonda area of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. A woman named Archana, reportedly fed up with constant torture by her husband and in-laws, jumped from the first floor of her house.
According to reports, Archana was being harassed over demands for Rs 5 lakh in cash and a Bullet motorcycle. A heart-wrenching 38-second video from the incident shows Archana lying on the ground, seriously injured, while a man can be seen beating her.
In the same video, her young children are seen crying and pleading for someone to save their mother.
Archana’s brother has alleged that her husband, Sonu, along with other in-laws, repeatedly harassed her both mentally and physically. He also claimed that Archana’s brother-in-law had ill intentions towards her. When she opposed this behaviour, she was beaten badly.
After the incident, Archana was rushed to the district hospital in critical condition. Doctors later confirmed that she is now out of danger. Based on the family’s complaint, police have registered a case against her husband and in-laws and launched an investigation. Authorities have assured strict action against those responsible.
