'Superman' sequel gets title, to release ahead of 'The Batman' sequel | Who is the main villain in 'Superman: Man of Tomorrow'?

Director James Gunn and actors David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult have confirmed their return for the much-anticipated sequel titled 'Superman: Man of Tomorrow'. The trio shared comicbook artwork of Superman with Lex Luthor beside him, in his Warsuit. The film is aiming for a July 9, 2027 release date, a couple of months ahead of Matt Reeves' The Batman-Part II', which arrives in theatres on Oct. 1, 2027.
This means that Luthor will return as the principal antagonist in Man of Tomorrow, putting on the suit to battle Clark Kent's alter-ego. In the first film, Luthor had created a clone of Superman to do the job for him but we know how that didn't really work out for the bald-headed baddie.
The return of James Gunn in the director's chair was a given, since the announcement of a new chapter was made by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, following the success of the reboot, which made a worldwide gross of $612 million on a budget of $225 million.

Additionally, James Gunn recently announced that the next project in the DCU will be Supergirl, starring Milly Alcock, who made an appearance in the David Corenswet-fronted movie as Kara Zol-El, Clark Kent's cousin, whose dog Krypto was briefly under his care when she was away. There is a mention of her "visiting planets with red suns", given that it's difficult for them to get drunk on a planet with a yellow sun.
Interestingly, Jason Momoa, who played DC's Aquaman, will be introduced as Lobo in this movie, directed by Craig Gillespie, who is known for the critically acclaimed I, Tonya, starring Margot Robbie, and Cruella, with Emma Stone. His work until now has proven that he is the right candidate for taking on women-centric films with a singular energy.

'Supergirl' will be followed by 'Clayface' directed by James Watkins, from a script by Mike Flanagan ("Midnight Mass", "Doctor Sleep") and Hossein Amini. The principal cast members are Tom Rhys Harries and Naomi Ackie.
'Superman' recently hit digital platforms prior to the launch of the second season of James Gunn's 'Peacemaker' starring John Cena.
