Shrine Board honours Para-Archer Rakesh Kumar

REASI, Sept 5: Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today felicitated ace Para Archer Rakesh Kumar for his outstanding performance at the Para Archery World Ranking Tournament held in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic.
Trained at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex in Katra, Rakesh Kumar clinched two Gold and one Bronze medal, contributing significantly to India’s impressive haul of 10 medals at the global event. In a special ceremony, the CEO honoured Rakesh with sacred offerings including a Chunri and Prasad of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi as a token of blessings and appreciation.
A recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award-2024, Rakesh Kumar has consistently showcased remarkable talent and dedication at both national and international levels, bringing laurels to nation and to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Commending his achievements, the CEO expressed hope that, with divine blessings and the support of world-class training facilities and expert coaching at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, more athletes will excel globally.
The Shrine Board, under the chairmanship of the Lt. Governor of JK-UT, is focused on promoting youth talent through advanced infrastructure and opportunities. The event was attended by Additional CEO Alok Kumar Maurya, Joint CEO Satish Kumar Sharma, Assistant CEO Druv Gupta and coaches from various sports disciplines.
