Traffic jam has become a big problem in the Millennium City Gurugram. For this, a new extension project has been started with 27 new metro stations.
New Metro Stations: The problem of traffic jams will soon end in Millennium City Gurugram. Gurugram, which has offices of more than 250 multinational companies, will soon have 27 new metro stations, which will reduce road traffic significantly. The new metro line will connect 27 stations. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini have laid the foundation of this project. This will benefit 25 lakh population with superfast connectivity. Along with this, metro connectivity to Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad will improve.
Gurugram Metro Corridor will be built
A 28.5 km long metro corridor will be built from Millennium City Center to Dwarka Expressway passing through Cyber City. It will cost about Rs 5500 crore. This project will be completed in 4 years. Under this metro project, metro stations will be built at places like Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar, Palam Vihar. According to Gurugram Metro Rail Limited, this will make it easier to travel from Gurugram to Delhi and areas like Noida Ghaziabad in NCR without traffic. This will also reduce pollution in the city and create new jobs.
New picture of the Millennium City
More than 19 unicorns, IT companies, BPOs and other companies have their hub in Gurugram. Apart from the 27 km metro extension project, a 1.85 km metro line will also be built from Dwarka Expressway to Basai village. This will enable 7.5 lakh metro passengers to travel within Gurugram city every year.
Expansion of Metro network
Till 2014, only 5 cities in the country had a metro network of 248 km, which has now expanded to 1066 km in 24 cities. Work is underway on a 970 km metro project. Metro is expanding in cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Mumbai, Gorakhpur.
