Tata Motors Price Cut: What comes as good news for people who want to buy Tata cars, the company on Friday announced a major price cut on its passenger vehicles up to Rs 1,45,000 following the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reform. The benefit comes ahead of the festive season. The price cut will be implemented after September 22. Notably, the latest GST reforms have reduced the tax rates for most goods, including vehicles.

The Mumbai-based carmaker said it will give customers the full benefit of the recent GST cut on cars and SUVs.

When Will Tata Motors Roll Out Revised Prices?

As per the company, the revised prices on all passenger vehicles would be applicable from September 22, the same time when the revised GST come into effect.

What Will The Reduction On Tata Cars Be?

Some of Tata’s popular cars such as Tata Tiago will see a reduction of up to 75,000. Howeve, Safari will witness the biggest cut of Rs 1,45,000.

Tigor will see a price reduction of Rs 80,000, and the Altroz will see a price cut of Rs 1.10 lakh.

Tata Punch’s price will be reduced up to Rs 85,000. Price cut on Tata Nexon would be Rs 1.55 lakh, and Curvv will get cheaper up to Rs 65,000. Big cars such as Harrier and Safari will witness a price cut of up to Rs 1,40,000 and 1,45,000 respectively.

Why Did Tata Reduced Prices On Its Passenger Cars?

The automotive major has reduced prices on its passenger vehicles after GST Council approved limiting slabs to 5 percent and 18 percent. With new GST rates, smaller vehicles such as petrol, LPG, and CNG cars with 1,200 cc engines and under 4,000 mm in length, also diesel cars up to 1,500 cc and 4,000 mm long, will fall under the 18 percent tax slab.

What Did The Company Officials Say On The Move?

According to the Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd Shailesh Chandra, “The reduction in GST on passenger vehicles, effective 22nd September 2025, is a progressive and timely decision that will make personal mobility more accessible for millions across India.”

“This will make our popular range of cars and SUVs even more accessible across segments, enabling first-time buyers and accelerating the shift towards new age mobility for a wider spectrum of customers,” he added.
