'Hridayapoorvam' and 'Lokah Chapter 1 - Chandra', the two most successful Mollywood releases of this Onam season, continue to enthral filmgoers. While Mohanlal's film has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark, Arun Dominic's 'Lokah Chapter 1 - Chandra', the surprise winner of the Onam race, is well past the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide.

August 5, Saturday, was Thiruvonam day and the Onam vacations will conclude in Kerala by the end of the week. With theatres running the two movies experiencing good footfall even on the auspicious day, 'Hridayapoorvam' collected Rs 2.85 crore on Friday and Rs 0.47 crore on Saturday (forenoon), while 'Lokah Chapter 1 - Chandra' managed Rs 7.8 crore and Rs 1.42 crore respectively. The Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi dubbed versions have also been contributing to the domestic collection of the Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen movie, Sacnilk data showed.

The Malayalam version of Lokah Chapter: 1 Chandra minted Rs 42.5 crore in the first week, while the Tamil edition raked in Rs 5.05 crore and Telugu Rs 7.15 crore. The second weekend could see a lot more money flowing in, thanks to the Onam weekend in Kerala as well as the release of the Hindi version on September 4.
As things stand, 'Lokah Chapter 1 - Chandra' has collected Rs 63.92 crore from India, while 'Hridayapoorvam' boasts a net domestic collection of Rs 23.32 crore.
Despite being the runner-up, 'Hridayapoorvam', which saw him reunite with another veteran in director Sathyan Anthikadu, is set to emerge as Mohanlal's third successive hit at the box office. By the afternoon shows on Friday, the family drama clocked past Rs 50 crore globally, making it the third such film in a row for Mohanlal. No superstar in Mollywood has had such a hat-trick of Rs 50-crore grossers before.
