'Madharaasi' Day 2 Box Office Collection: AR Murugadoss film starring Sivakarthikeyan looks at solid opening weekend

Madharaasi, also spelt as Madharasi, minted Rs 11.5 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu alone, taking its first-day net domestic box office collection to Rs 13.1 crore across all languages.

In Telugu, it collected Rs 1.5 crore and in Hindi, it bagged Rs 10 lakh on Day 1. Madharasi, which was produced by Sri Lakshmi Movies at Rs 180 crore budget, has collected Rs 100 crore in pre-release business.

How much did Madharaasi collect on Day 2?

Madharaasi raked in Rs 3.79 crore by 4 pm on September 6, bringing the total net collection in India box office to Rs 16.89 crore, according to Sacnilk.

The production house, Sri Lakshmi Movies said that more than six lakh tickets were sold on BookMyShow app across all languages.

Besides Sivakarthikeyan, Madharaasi also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth Santhosh, Monisha Vijay, Thalaivasal Vijay, Rishi Rithvik, Prem Kumar, and Shabeer Kallarakkal. The music is done by Anirudh Ravichander.

Sivakarthikeyan plays a trauma-riddled yet empowered hero in a film with some neatly done high-octane action sequences, self-aware narrative, and surprising merits that overshadow its minor flaws. Read the full movie review of Madharasi HERE.

On Day 2, Madharaasi morning shows saw 34.49 per cent occupancy in Tamil and 14.67 per cent in Telugu. In the afternoon, 59.84 per cent seats were filled for Tamil shows and 20.32 per cent for Telugu shows.
