YRKKH actor Ashish Kapoor remanded to 14-day judicial custody in alleged rape case
In a new twist, Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Saturday sent actor Ashish Kapoor to 14 days of judicial custody after police interrogation. Ashish was produced before Link Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Payal Singhal. A case was registered based on a complaint filed by a woman, where she alleged that the TV actor raped her at a party. Following the complaint, on September 2, 2025, Ashish was arrested in Pune.
What Are The Allegations Against Actor Ashish Kapoor?
An FIR was registered on August 11 under relevant sections, including rape, gang rape, and causing hurt. As per the complaint, the woman stated that she was invited to a party in Ashish’s neighborhood, where her drink was allegedly spiked. She claimed that after losing consciousness, she was dragged into a washroom and subjected to gang rape.
Police revealed that initially, the woman had named other individuals for committing the heinous crime. However, later she revised her statement and only accused the actor of rape.
Following Ashish’s arrest, the Delhi Police filed an application seeking a 5-day custody remand in the case. The plea filed by the police included requests for the recovery of the accused’s mobile phone, conducting a potency test, examining the involvement of other accused individuals, and taking them to Pune, Maharashtra, for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the court has also given a green signal for the potency test of Ashish.

Ashish Kapoor was initially an interior designer before he stepped into the world of acting. He made his acting debut with Ssshhh…Phir Koi Hai (2010).
