Arti Dogra is an IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre. She cracked the UPSC exam on her first attempt in 2006. It is to be noted that Dogra was the Managing Director (MD) of Jodhpur Discom and later Collector of Ajmer district. Arti becomes the first female IAS officer to take charge as MD of Discom (Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited).

Hailing from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Arti was different from other children since childhood. While the other children were maturing in size and stature, she stayed at a height of 3.5 feet. Often, people would stare at her and mock her. The world tried to convince her that her 3.5-foot height would be the biggest barrier in her life—but she decided to write her own script.

Arti’s father, Colonel Rajendra Dogra, and her mother, school principal Kumkum Dogra, never made her feel inferior or limited. They inspired Arti to study, play, and dream like other kids. Their faith never wavered. This laid the foundation for her bravery. With her parents’ full support, Arti cracked the UPSC exam and made history.

Arti completed her schooling at Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. She completed her graduation at Delhi University and then also completed her master’s. With a commitment to serve the country, Arti started her preparation for the UPSC Civil Services exam right after her master’s. The process isn’t easy, but after hard work and dedication, Arti succeeded.
