Jerusalem shooting: At least 4 dead, 15 injured after attackers open fire inside bus

At least 4 people died and more than a dozen others were injured after two attackers opened fire in a bus at Jerusalem on Monday morning, the police said.

Two attackers allegedly boarded a bus, which was then located at a busy intersection in north Jerusalem, an Associated Press report said.

Although the two attackers were "neutralised" soon after the shooting began, no details about the attackers is known yet.

Paramedics on the scene also said that 6 people were in a critical condition. They added that the area was chaotic, with broken glass strewn everywhere, and people lying unconscious on the road nearby.

“I was on the bus. The bus was packed,” a woman who was on that bus told local media, as per a Times of Israel report, recounting the harrowing moments of the incident.

“The moment [the driver] opened the door … terrorists came. It was terrible. I was by the back door, I fell on everyone and escaped, I saved myself," she added.

The woman reportedly hid underneath another vehicle in the area until the shooting stopped when the terrorists were neutralised.

“There was gunfire there beyond anything imaginable. I can’t believe I’m standing here. Indescribable gunfire,” she remarked.

Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir rushed to the crime scene and is conducting a situational analysis of the tragedy.

"(Police are) currently trying to understand how they [the terrorists] got here, who brought them, and I believe that within a short time we will reach everyone who is involved,” Zion Region Assistant Commissioner Shlomi Bachar told local media.
