Violent protests rock France after Macron appoints…, 200 arrested as protesters clash with police
France Protests: About 200 people were arrested in France on Wednesday after violent protests erupted across French capital Paris and elsewhere, as thousands hit the streets to mount pressure on President Emmanuel Macron after he installed a new prime minister a day earlier.
Angry protesters blocked roads, set blazes and clashed with the police who responded with tear-gas shelling to disperse them, Associated Press reported. Nearly 200 arrests were made during the first hours of the planned day of nationwide demonstrations, the interior minister announced.
