DC, SP inspect markets on mobikes to ensure security in Panipat
In the festival season, especially the day before Karwa Chauth, people are reaching the markets in large numbers for shopping. The district administration and the Police Department are also on high alert to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during the festivals and ensure people’s safety.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Virender Kumar Dahiya, SP Bhupender Singh, and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Dr Pankaj Yadav on Thursday visited the city markets on rider motorcycles on Thursday to review the arrangements, especially the traffic management, encroachment, security in the markets and maintain law and order during the ongoing festival season.
Dahiya, along with Bhupender Singh and Pankaj Yadav on the riders began their visit from the Mini-Secretariat and reached Gurdwara market, Chaura Bazaar, Pachranga Bazaar, Amar Bhawan Chowk, Halwai Hatta, Gur Mandi, Kalandar Chowk, Veer Bhawan Chungi, Salarganj gate, Insaar Market, and again reached NH-44 and Mini- Secretariat. ASP Harshit Goel and DSP Traffic Suresh Saini were also with them during the visit.
Dahiya, while interacting with mediapersons, said the festival season had started and shopping had also begun. The administration, along with the police, had already implemented the odd-even for e-rickshaws and autos in the city to curb the traffic menace, and now new arrangements were implemented in the markets due to the festival season.
Bhupender Singh said to provide a better and secure atmosphere to the residents, special security arrangements were made in the markets.
Pankaj Yadav said a meeting with presidents of market associations washeld, and now crash barriers would be installed in the markets.
