The UGC has issued notices to universities violating the rules. They have also instructed them to follow the necessary guidelines. Failure to do so will result in action. Let’s find out if your college is included in this list?

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has taken strict action against several universities. They have been declared defaulters for failing to upload public self-disclosure information. These universities failed to upload various information, including finance, academics, and infrastructure, on their website homepages. The UGC has also issued a notice regarding this action on the official website, www.ugc.gov.in.

Under Section 10 of the UGC Act 1956, all higher education institutions are required to upload administrative (such as principal, registrar, finance, controller of examinations, etc.), academic (courses, calendar, etc.), admission process, fees, refund policy, research and development cell, sports-hostel facilities, picture gallery, content details, location, address, and other information on their official websites. However, the universities on this list failed to comply with the regulations.

Complete the necessary work within 15 days

37 universities from 14 states have been included in the defaulter list. A directive has been issued to comply with the guidelines, with a two-week deadline. The UGC has clarified in its notice that failure to complete the work on time will result in action against these institutions.
