25 tonnes of ration rice being smuggled to Kerala seized near Coimbatore

According to superintendent of police for the civil supplies CID for the Coimbatore zone L Balaji Saravanan, a person residing on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border collects ration rice meant for the PDS from the public at a very low cost and smuggles it to Karnataka to sell at a higher price. In Karnataka, they pack the rice in commercial rice bags and send it to Kerala.
