Bihar Assembly Election: RJD to announce seats and candidates soon, Lalu Yadav has…, Tejashwi-led government…
New Delhi: Bihar RJD chief Lalu Yadav will select the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) seats and candidates for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. This decision was made at a meeting held in Patna on Friday, 10 October 2025. The RJD Parliamentary Party, chaired by Tejashwi Yadav, elected Lalu Yadav to distribute the party’s symbol for the upcoming elections. After the meeting, Lalu Yadav said that this time the people of Bihar will vote for change and a Tejashwi government will be formed in the state.
State and Central Parliamentary Party meeting
A series of meetings was held at Rabri Devi’s residence on Friday to finalize preparations for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. First, the State Parliamentary Party met, followed by the Central Parliamentary Party, which Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav attended. The party’s State Parliamentary Party proposed authorizing Lalu Yadav to select seats and candidates. This proposal was then passed by the Central Parliamentary Party as well.
RJD to announce candidates
The RJD is expected to announce its candidates for the Bihar elections on Friday. Seat-sharing arrangements within the Grand Alliance have not yet been announced. Sources indicate that the seat-sharing formula has been finalized. The RJD will once again play the role of the elder brother. Lalu Yadav’s party is expected to contest a maximum of 130 seats, followed by the Congress party with 55 to 60 seats, Mukesh Sahni’s VIP party with 25 seats, and the CPI (Left Party) with 30 seats.
The RJD and Congress will pave the way for Pashupati Kumar Paras’s party, the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. Consequently, it is estimated that the party will receive four to five seats. These seats could be allocated from the RJD and Congress’s quotas.
Pashupati Kumar Paras
Pashupati Kumar Paras has served as the Minister of Food Processing Industries in the Government of India from 2021 till his resignation in 2024. He was also a member of the 7th Lok Sabha from the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency.
