OTV hosts workshop on World Mental Health Day

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, OTV on Friday hosted a special workshop focusing on mental well-being and stress management. The event saw participation from OTV employees and featured renowned psychiatrist Dr. Samrat Kar as the chief guest.

During the workshop, Dr. Kar shared practical insights on how to stay free from mental stress in professional life, as well as ways to maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

He emphasised the importance of mental health, offering guidance on coping strategies, avoiding depression, and building resilience in day-to-day life. Employees were encouraged to ask questions, and Dr. Kar addressed various concerns, providing expert advice tailored to workplace challenges.

In addition to the interactive session, a competition was organised to engage participants, promoting awareness about mental health and its significance in daily life. Young journalist Debadatta Arya was awarded the first prize for his outstanding contribution during the event.

The workshop highlighted the growing need for awareness and proactive steps to maintain mental wellness, particularly in high-stress professional environments.

OTV officials and employees appreciated the initiative, noting that such programs not only educate but also inspire individuals to prioritise their mental health.

“We should leave our office work before going home. There is always some kind of stress at work. If we take the stress on our family, parents, or wife, then there will be a fight in the family. If we take positive energy, there will be positive energy in the family. If we take negative energy, there will be negative energy. So, we should always keep our family and office life separate. It will be even better if family members are included in corporate picnics and get-togethers,” suggested Dr. Kar.
