Bollywood’s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has turned a year older today. Amitabh has always ensured that his fans receive the entertainment they deserve. Over the last five decades, Big B has delivered numerous hits and established himself as an iconic actor. Recently, when the Hurun India Rich List 2025 was released, Amitabh’s name appeared in the fifth spot, with his net worth reported at Rs 1,630 crore. Though there are many producers and directors in the Bollywood industry, Anand Kamalnayan Pandit — best known for backing and distributing films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Total Dhamaal, Missing, Sarkar 3, and Great Grand Masti — is known for his keen eye for movie selection. While today Anand is a big name, little did he know back then that one day he would be richer than Amitabh Bachchan.

In a throwback interview with Indian Express SCREEN, Anand Pandit revealed that Amitabh Bachchan’s film Trishul motivated him to step out of the comfort of his hometown, Ahmedabad, and chase his dreams in Mumbai. Much like Bachchan’s character in the film — a small-town man who builds his way up to owning a construction empire — Pandit found inspiration to script his own success story.

Pandit said, “I have grown up watching Amitabh Bachchan’s films. His film Trishul really inspired and motivated me to leave Ahmedabad and move to Mumbai. I also wanted to have my own Shanti Construction Company, and fortunately, today I have made Lotus Developers. His character Vijay inspired me to be where I am today. It is all because of Bachchan sahab.”

Meanwhile, coming to Anand’s net worth, as per the Hurun India 2025 report, he has been ranked as the 10th richest real estate tycoon in India, with an estimated wealth of Rs 8,660 crore — largely credited to the market valuation of his company, Sri Lotus Developers and Realty Limited.

With these numbers revealed, Anand Kamalnayan Pandit has become even richer than his favourite actor, Amitabh Bachchan.
